FAQ
Frequently asked questions about motion design, collaboration and impact
Could animation work for you?
Here you’ll find clear answers to questions about animation and motion design, our approach and how we work together.
What are animation and motion design?
When you think of animation, you might think of cartoons or 3D characters. In marketing and communications, animation can help explain ideas, strengthen a brand or bring a message to life.
👉 Motion design uses animated graphics to explain ideas, reinforce a message or make content more engaging.
At Raaaak, we use it to make business communication clear and engaging.
You see it everywhere, often without noticing:
- A logo that moves at the start of a video
- Text or figures that appear on screen in a dynamic way
- A short video that explains in one minute what your product does
- Animated visuals on social media that make you stop scrolling straight away
We sometimes call it animation, sometimes motion design. Technically, motion design is a part of animation, but most people use the terms interchangeably.
When should I choose animation over live-action video?
Many companies weigh up live-action video and animation. In practice, you don’t always have to choose one or the other.
Choose animation if you want to explain something that’s hard to film.
Think of:
- An abstract concept such as a strategy or vision
- A software platform or digital workflow
- A new product that doesn’t physically exist yet
- The inner workings of a system or a technical process
With animation you don’t need a shoot day, location or actors. Everything happens digitally, which gives you complete creative freedom. You can make things appear, speed up, zoom in or visualise them in ways a camera would never capture as clearly.
Animation is especially suitable when you want to reuse or adapt videos. For product updates, multilingual versions or different audiences, an animated video can easily be updated, without extra shoot days or new recordings. That makes animation more sustainable and cost-efficient in the long run.
Choose filmed video instead if you want to show atmosphere, people or emotion.
For example:
- A customer speaking (testimonials)
- A look behind the scenes
- Showing a workplace or event
In short: animation is ideal for clarity, flexibility and control - filmed video works better when you want to convey human connection or real-life context. Often, combining the two gives you the best result.
Isn’t animation too ‘childish’ for technical or complex subjects?
Not at all, quite the opposite. Animation is a powerful way to make complex or abstract information easy to understand, while keeping the tone professional.
Many companies in sectors such as software, healthcare, logistics or public policy use animation to get their story across clearly. Not because it’s playful, but because it shows things you can’t film, from digital flows to strategic processes.
It’s all about style and tone. Animation can be as professional, sophisticated or understated as you need. At Raaaak we make animations that fit your brand and audience, without clichés or childish imagery, but with maximum clarity and impact.
Can we reuse animation across channels and stages of the customer journey?
That’s exactly one of the big advantages of animation. If you tell us from the start that you want to reuse it on other channels or across different channels and uses, such as social media, sales and onboarding, we take that into account in the structure, style and elements.
For example, we can work with a template-based approach, where you later add scenes or variations yourself, or we do it for you. That way you get more out of one video, without starting over each time.
Think of short teasers on social media, animated snippets for presentations, or updates for new features - all starting from one core story.
Which sectors does Raaaak work for?
Raaaak works with organisations that want to explain complex ideas, persuade an audience or raise awareness through animation and strong storytelling.
We’re often active in sectors where clarity and structure are crucial, such as tech, software, healthcare, public policy and education. Think of marketing teams that want to make technical content accessible, or communication agencies that want to strengthen complex messages visually.
We work with branding agencies, marketing agencies, advertising agencies and communication agencies, as well as directly with businesses and public-sector organisations. From content creation and social media content to complete video marketing projects. If your story needs explaining, we’ll help people understand it.
In short: if you’re looking for content that sticks, Raaaak works. Whatever your sector.
How much does an animated video cost?
Most of the initial investment goes into the concept, visual style and structure, and into creating elements you can reuse.
Once that foundation is right, scaling up becomes much more efficient. Extra versions or formats do cost more, but the price rarely rises proportionally. The price therefore depends on two things: the level of detail (from clear and functional to refined and detailed) and the number of deliverables, such as versions, formats, languages or separate assets.
That’s why we give you an indicative price range for each type of project. Prices start at €385 for an animated logo, €1,180 for a motion identity and €2,665 for an explainer video. These starting prices cover a clear, straightforward production without unnecessary complexity. That way you know in advance what something usually costs, and together we can decide what delivers the most in your context.
Choosing a higher level of detail doesn’t simply get you more animation. The difference lies in more considered choices: richer visual language, more finesse and careful attention to every frame. That pays off especially when the video is used widely. Think of a hero video on your website, a campaign or a launch where the look and feel matters.
Want to know what it means for your project? Send us a short brief and we’ll help you explore the options, with no obligation.
What does working with Raaaak look like in practice?
We work in clear phases (insight, story, form, creation and iteration) with decision points agreed in advance. That way we avoid endless feedback rounds and keep the process clear for all stakeholders.
What do you need from our team to get off to a good start?
You don’t need a polished brief. We need a clear objective, a decision-maker who can stay involved, and some context about your audience and where the animation will be used. We’ll refine the brief together.
How long does a motion project take?
That depends on what you need. A simple logo animation or short visual can sometimes be ready within a few days. A full explainer video or motion branding project usually takes a bit more time.
On average, a custom explainer video takes about 4 to 8 weeks - depending on the content, feedback rounds and your internal approval process. We always work in clear steps, so you know what happens when.
Do you already have a clear script or format? Then we can move faster. Is it a strategic project (for example around positioning or branding)? Then we deliberately take a little more time to get the story really sharp - that’s often where the difference lies.
Working to a tight deadline, or have more time to develop the idea? We’ll plan the project around your schedule.
Do you take on one-off projects as well as long-term collaborations?
Both are possible, but we see the most impact in long-term collaborations. Formats, motion branding and web animations only really pay off when they are used and developed continuously.

What can we use animation and motion design for?
Animation - or motion design - comes in many forms. Everything we create is tailored to your story, audience and channel.
Among other things, we make:
- Explainer videos that make complex matters clear
- Motion branding: animations that bring your brand to life (think visuals, titles, transitions…)
- Logo animations for intros, videos or presentations
- Social media templates in your own style - quick to adapt and recognisable
- Micro-animations for websites, apps or UI flows
- E-learning visuals or training modules that hold attention
- Campaign videos or content for advertising and awareness
- Event visuals and screen animations for presentations or trade fairs
Sometimes it’s about one clear video. Sometimes we build a complete motion system you can use throughout your communication. It works in a scalable, recognisable and efficient way.
Not sure whether animation suits your type of content? Chances are it does. Tell us what you want to get across, and we’ll show you what’s possible.
How do I determine the ROI of animation?
Animation isn’t a luxury; it’s a smart investment in clarity, recognition and scalable content. Used well, it grows with your brand and strengthens your communication in the long run.
Still, it’s important to be clear: animation is rarely a one-click conversion tool. Its value often sits higher in the funnel, in understanding, remembering and building trust.
Good animated content:
- makes complex or abstract information understandable in one minute
- helps people recognise your brand through a consistent visual style and message
- supports sales, onboarding, e-learning or behaviour change
- creates consistent, reusable content that stays scalable over time
How you measure the impact depends on the goal and the stage in which your video is used:
- Awareness (seeing & remembering): short, eye-catching motion content that stops the scroll. You measure success in quality views and brand recognition, not in clicks.
- Consideration (understanding & trust): explainer videos and how-tos that make clear what you do. Here you look at watch time, engagement and lead interest.
- Conversion (deciding): demos, customer stories or testimonials that address any remaining doubts and speed up conversion. Measure results through leads, enquiries or sales conversations.
At Raaaak we’re not a digital marketing agency - we don’t run campaigns. But we can help you decide where animation will have the greatest impact in your marketing funnel. On your homepage, during a sales pitch, in an onboarding flow or as a social snippet?
